Bill, in a best case scenario, would you call the Flyers a legitimate Cup threat? And if not, would you prefer to be a middle of the road team and just miss/squeak into the playoffs, or have a high pick in a deep draft class?

Craziest friggin thing ive seen in a long time, no hyperbole

near the end of warm ups, a flyer drilled three rockets about 2 feet off the ic from the top circle at the net on the far end. Dead bullseyes. I couldnt tell who it was, then i saw his back....COBURN. ....then kicker, he turns to the net, cant be more than 40 ft away and cant hit it......

i felt like Steven Baldwin in The Usual Suspects when he emerges with the knife in his back says " i just saw the strangest thing" and drops dead

or non back readers

Back in the day, Coburn used to be deadly from the top of the left circle on the PP...

True story.

This team has an '05 type of feeling with Forsberg and Gagne scorching hot and pretty much nothing else going on except promising prospects in the system

So I've missed the last 3 due to work.

Not really regretting it.

Nice to see Umberger and LeCavalier around 10-12 minutes, even though they should be benched but is what it is.

Bellemare needs to play more than 8 unless he has been playing like ass. Laughton could see more than 10:53.

/end usual ice time rant

(frank)ing amac. All he has to do is make the simple play and wrap it around to get it out. That's it. (frank)ing disgrace to lose that game with 45 left. (frank)ing disgrace.

Many of the Flyers early chances were the type that needed an ED supplement to score.
Shot too low, couldnt get it up. Jake gets it up but hits the post.

Working harder, working stupid.

Best thing was the filet, the butternut squash soup and martini before the game in the grille upstairs with a customer.

Top line is really working, but even with the wide early shot margin, not much room to operate and a lot of moronic passing into the opposition players.

This team is as creative with the puck as a dead person, everything is so obvious, no deception, no looking off, the east west puck movement sucks on the PP.
Players going up and down in lanes like they were ruts in the ice.

Another forgettable game by a forgettable team of slugs with another self destruct coach.

I am tired of all this coach and GM speak, say the fracking truth and don't be stoic bs'ers spewing this nonsense about winning most of the games if you play like that
DUUUHHH, too many shots to the head Berube.

I agree.. THey played a lot harder and Kuemper really impressed me. Effort like that every night should get them quite a wins. killer breakdown at the end.. I couldn't believe they could be so sloppy.. 45 seconds and they have a point. brutal.

Yeah, one of their most well played games of the year... and of course they poop the bed when it counts the most, because, you know... Flyers.

Don't really get why they keep throwing guys in who are coming off long absences from injury... Colie was playing just fine... what's wrong with a conditioning stint in LHV for Coburn and/or AMac (and/or Vinny) so they can work off the rust and not cost the team goals/points?

As far as the Lindros and LeClair event, Am I the only one who noticed the obvious absence of Lindros' parents when LeClair's mother was there? I know the issues they had with the Flyers, but if you're going to bury the hatchet, Bury it all with the Flyers, that's your son. LeClair seemed alot more appreciative in the closing speech, I think there's still some animosity between Eric and the Flyers. As far as the game goes, Laughton looked better which tells me he's gonna be sent down soon.

This team has major flaws and injuries just make it look worse. Despite all the problems, the two biggest and unfixable problems are VL and Umberger.
VL: would be moved if someone would take him, but nobody wants him (he did look better with Laughton centering his line).
Umb: is not going anywhere. New GM makes first big move of his career by trading away a fan favorite for 4th line LW, who can't skate, shoot or pass. No way Hexy moves him until next off season, bc it makes him look horrible.
The Defense is what it is, no reason to complain about it

Laughton is the only reason that Vinny and Umberger showed some life last night. The kid played great and should stay up. Its true... if they play like that most nights.... Mason in net... Flyers win.

I also noticed that Snider & Clarke were not there. I think that the absence of those two, as well as Bonnie & Carl, left the focus in the proper place-on Eric & John LeClair.

Last night was for good memories, and having Snider, Clarke or Lindros' parents booed or even there, would have taken attention from them.

The Lindros - LeClair event was really done up well and those two deserved every bit of it. Probabaly the most talented Flyers ever. The numbers dont lie.

Its a shame cause he played well up until that point... Flyers defense is much better with Schenn in lineup. A lot of you dont want to admit it but he makes a difference, especially on the PK
